A few weeks ago i contacted a Glasgow Superleague (and Scotland B2 ?) player and asked him if hed play a money game, knowing he liked playing them.

I asked kevin Irving if hed play the guy on the same day. Kev agreed.

Kev was to play him at 1pm, best of 11.

I was to play him at 2.30pm, best of 19.

I decided to put up £100 of my own money for my match and asked others if they wanted to back me.

In money matches it is normal practice for the player to take 20% of any winnings, meaning his backers get 4/5 odds. In this case i waived this and offered backers Evens.

Unfortunately, Kevin has had to withdraw as hes had a sore back for a few weeks and hasnt practised enough to commit fully to a match.

Grant McNairn has stepped in to play.

So, this Saturday there will two matches as planned, starting at 1pm in Ospreys.

Saturday 6th October @ Ospreys
1st match @ 1pm
2nd match @ 2.30pm (or half an hour after first match is complete)

Ive to let Vinny know by the end of play tonight the total amounts per man for each game (he has said theres no limit)

Just now it looks like Grants game will be £50 a man, best of 11, and my game £550 a man, best of 19.

The games are ON tomorrow.

Grants game is for £50 a man.

Depending on the outcome of game one, my game with Vinny will be either £450 or £550 a man.

If it "goes down" to £450 ill reduce backers amounts by between £5 and £15, depending on what level backers went in at.

Ill get a few texts sent out (either by me, or by Grant to some, or all of the backers as my match starts, which will have the breakdown of amounts)

Lastly, thanks for all the good luck messages and support/backing. Heres hoping i play well....

Grant lost 6-3 today.
He went 4-0 down and hadnt really done a lot wrong, except losing one frame with two shots and a good chance.
Going that far down in a short race was his downfall as he pulled it back to 5-3 down and had a shot that nearly made it 5-4.
In short, he got going just too late and Vinny won well.
Grant put up £25 and i put up £25.



Vinny asked that we play up to 13. i agreed.
Vinny asked to reduce the £550 to £500 so some of the backers had their steak reduced.
We decided on a break after 10 frames.
I went ahead 4-1 before getting to the interval at 6-4 up.
From there on in i only missed one easy pot and managed to win the match 13-6.
Vinny is a Glasgow Superleague player and Scotland player. Im sure he can play better than he did in our match, but i know i can too.

There is likely to be a rematch in Harleys in November

Heard from Vinny today.
He is wanting a rematch in late January / early February in Harleys.
First to 13.
I am going to put up £100 of my own money (maybe more).
Looking at making it £200 a man, or more.

If anyone who backed me the first time wants to back me again (harder game this time!) let me know, but im not having people increase the stake they put on last time (so they cant be out of pocket should I lose.

If anyone who didn't back m the last time wants to, then I will take that on, up to £20 only.
